Concordia Theological Foundation presents financial assistance in 2025
On Monday, May 5, 2025, Concordia Theological Foundation distributed checks to 30 graduating Master of Divinity Students in the amount of $2,250 for a total of $67,500. The stipends were presented to each newly trained pastor who was prepared through their studies to serve a congregation of the Lutheran Church–Missouri Synod. For those departing for their first call it was a small stipend to assist in making that move and transition. For several who will continue their pastoral studies in the fall as a Master of Sacred Theology (STM) student it was a small stipend to assist them as they continue to prepare for their first call.
In addition to this the Foundation presented Concordia Theological Seminary with a $227,590 check for its use in forming confessional Luthean pastors for the Lutheran Church–Missouri Synod. Dr. Jon Bruss, President of Concordia Theological Seminary, was present to received the check from David Hawk, President of Concordia Theological Foundation. Along with the Student Book Fund check presented earlier in the year in the amount of $4,910.00 the Foundation distributed a total of $300,000 during the 2024-2025 fiscal for the support and training of confessional pastors for the office of the Holy Ministry.
The Foundation was established in 1999 by men who wanted to preserve the historic, scriptural position of the LCMS. The Foundation is blessed by the generosity of many individuals which allows it to continue its mission and ministry of supporting the Church and shepherding of congregations well, providing them with God’s Word and the Sacraments and loving support which is so necessary in the world in which we live.
“How, then, can they call on the name of the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the One
of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?” Romans 10:14
